- Larson-Juhl. In 1991, Larson-Juhl partnered with American Forests to begin the Global ReLeaf ecosystem restoration project. Since then, Larson-Juhl has planted over a quarter of a million trees throughout the world. We carry a full selection of Larson-Juhl frames. Larson-Juhl is proud to offer a number of custom frame moulding collections that have earned PEFC certification as well as a vast selection of matboards which boast FSC certification Larson-Juhl Biltmore Collection Art and Frames. Partnering with Biltmore, which has been a sustainable estate since its opening in 1895, Larson-Juhl has created the Biltmore Collection of moulding, the first collection certified by the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification, PEFC, which traces the chain of custody of the lumber from the forest to the final product so consumers can be confident they are purchasing from a well-managed, sustainable forest. Biltmore Collection mat boards are the first FSC mat boards on the market.
- Nurre Caxton’s Eco-Care line is produced from managed forests with active reforestation programs. They use organic, water-based stains on these mouldings, using no chemical solvents.
- Framerica. The Framer’s Workshop is pleased to carry a selection of Framerica’s environmentally conscious framing material. Framerica uses post-consumer renewable wood sources such as wood chips and sawdust to create their economical line of Bonanza wood. Their state-of-the art purpose built ultra-efficient facility is recognized as a model in the green framing industry
- Universal Framing Products’ NatureWood is a unique moulding line made with 100-percent sustainable pine, providing an appearance of real, exotic wood
Being as green as we can…. "Green framing is about making environmentally conscious choices toward a goal of global sustainability". Going green is about paying attention to what is being purchased, not just what is going into the Dumpster. We reuse packing materials whenever possible and donate off cuts of mat board and foam core to schools that want them for projects in class. Quality and appearance are more important than recycling potential when it comes to choosing mouldings and mat boards. However, the industry is evolving, and more composite mouldings are on the market than ever before. Getting the most from any material is the goal, she says. "If it looks good and will last, I am all for it." Our lifetime guarantee for craftsmanship added to the quality of the materials we use mean that it shouldn’t need to be recycled. You will have a frame that you will always want to use.
Instead of tossing scrap moulding in the trash. We the pieces in several ways. To offer deals to clients on small projects or to make ready-made frames by pairing surplus moulding with custom-quality mats and glass.
